Careers at Promar generally begin at the level of project assistant or research analyst, depending on one’s skills and experience. With further experience and positive evaluations, staff are promoted and entrusted with additional responsibilities. We pride ourselves on a fairly flat organizational structure which provides a flexible and transparent work environment. Our work is challenging, varied, and conducted in a relaxed atmosphere.

The ideal candidate:

  • Enthusiastic, energetic team player with excellent critical thinking skills
  • Background in economics, trade, research and/or problem solving
  • Interested in global trends in food, agriculture, trade policy and business development
  • Interested in developing a career as an international consultant
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Comfortable working with numbers and data
  • Good computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office package
  • Strong English and Japanese in Japan and English and Mandarin in China. Third language preferred (Mandarin, Japanese, Spanish, French, etc)
  • Age: Open
  • Education: MA, MBA or PhD preferred
